TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY

Start: 33rd | Finish: 32rd | Driver Points: 14th | Owner Points: 16th

Race Recap: In a single day event for the Craftsman Truck Series at Texas Motor Speedway, a rear gear failure ended Matt DiBenedetto’s day early.

After running seventh-quickest in the series’ lone practice session, crew chief Chad Kendrick opted to make adjustments to the front end of the No. 25 in an effort to get the truck better in race trim. Because of those adjustments, DiBenedetto didn’t get to qualify and started 33rd out of 34 trucks.

With plenty of speed behind the wheel and an incredibly slick track, DiBenedetto climbed to 16th to end stage one. He remained in that general area throughout stage two and reported a vibration in the final laps of the stage.

The resulting broken rear gear took the No. 25 Rackley Roofing Chevrolet to the garage and out of the race. DiBenedetto ended up 32nd.
