Texas Motor Speedway
Start: 24th | Finish: 23rd | Driver Points: 20th | Owner Points: 24th
Race Recap: Handling plagued Ty Dillon and the No. 25 Rackley Roofing / W.A.R. Shocks Chevrolet throughout Friday night’s SpeedyCash.com 250 at Texas Motor Speedway. Despite multiple adjustments throughout the race, Dillon settled for a 23rd-place finish.
After running 13th-quickest in practice, Dillon qualified 24th. Starting deep in the field, he struggled with a slick race track but took advantage of a lap 11 caution to get his first round of adjustments on the No. 25 Chevrolet.
At the end of stage one, Dillon, still complaining of a loose truck, came down pit road for another round of adjustments. Those changes translated to better rear grip during stage two, and the crew made more adjustments to tighten up the front end at the conclusion of stage two.
Stage three went green for nearly 50 laps, resulting in a round of green flag pit stops that put Dillon two laps down at one point. Once the rest of the field pitted, he got one of those laps back and ultimately ended up 23rd, one lap down at the finish.
Congratulations! Ty Dillon and wife Haley welcomed their third child, a boy on Thursday, April 11th. Bear Dakota was 8 lbs, 3 oz when he was born, and mom and baby are doing well.
