Dawson Sutton finished 19th in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series EcoSave 200 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
After running 12th-quickest in practice, Sutton qualified ninth for his first career start at the mile-and-a-half oval. Once the green flag dropped, the driver of the No. 26 Rackley Roofing / W.A.R. Shocks Chevrolet Silverado maintained his position inside the top 15 with the help of coaching from his spotter.
Stage one ended under caution when rain hit, and the field ran 11 laps under the yellow before NASCAR threw the red flag.
After a 55-minute, 51-second red flag, racing resumed once again. Late in stage two, Sutton got really loose but managed to keep from spinning, though he did drop outside the top 20 just before the end of stage two. To make matters worse, he was hit with a penalty for improper fueling, dropping Sutton to the tail end of the field.
After a 19-minute, 42-second red flag, the race restarted once again. Sutton worked his way through the field to an eventual 19th-place finish by the time the checkered flag flew.
Season Stats: 3 starts, best finish 17th (Atlanta)
