CRC Brakleen 175 Recap

Pocono raceway

Start: 14th | Finish: 25th | Driver Points: 19th | Owner Points: 23rd

Ty Dillon finished 25th in Friday night’s rain-delayed CRC Brakleen 175 at Pocono Raceway. After starting late, the race, interrupted by rain, saw the driver of the No. 25 Rackley Roofing / W.A.R. Shocks Chevrolet start 14th and complain of loose handling in traffic during stage one.

Under the stage break pit stop, crew chief Shane Wilson called for track bar adjustments to help a truck Dillon described as “terribly loose” on corner entry, along with a right rear shock adjustment.

During stage two, contact with another competitor caused a brief hint of smoke on the right rear corner, along with some right-side damage. Under the stage break caution, the pit crew once again made multiple adjustments in hopes of tightening a loose-handling truck

With just nine laps remaining, rain began to fall, forcing the field down pit road, although drivers were instructed to stay in their trucks. Though the field was sent back out on the track, rain along pit road saw the field once again brought to a halt. This time, the rain fell hard enough to force teams to cover their trucks.

The rain ultimately gave way to sunlight, allowing the field to go green once again to complete the scheduled distance. With just three laps remaining, the field restarted and Dillon ended up 25th when the checkered flag flew.
