News & Notes
Kansas Team Stats: In a combined seven NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts at Kansas Speedway, Rackley W.A.R. drivers Timothy Peters (2021), Matt DiBenedetto (2022 & 2023), Ty Dillon (2024) and Dawson Sutton (2024) have an average 14.28 finish. Sutton holds the organization’s best result of fifth last Fall.
Sutton Kansas Stats: This weekend marks Sutton’s second start at Kansas Speedway. In just his third career Truck Series start last September, he scored a career-best qualifying effort of fifth, and despite early race contact and a speeding penalty, he scored a fifth-place finish.
Last Race: A rainy start to the race day at Texas Motor Speedway saw practice and qualifying cancelled. Metrics from Rockingham Speedway set the field and Sutton started 20th. A fuel-only pit stop near the end of stage one gave Sutton strong track position that he kept throughout the remainder of the race. A double overtime finish saw Sutton jump to a season-high ninth-place finish.
Points Update: On the strength of his ninth-place finish, Sutton moved up two positions in the standings to 17th. He holds a three-point advantage over 18th-place Aundres Perez De Lara and Matt Mills, who are tied for 18th. Sutton is 64 points behind Ben Rhodes, who holds the 10th and final playoff spot.
Rookie Standings: Sutton was the highest finishing rookie at Texas and the only one to finish inside the top 20. Giovanni Ruggiero still leads the rookie standings, while Sutton jumped to second, 36 points behind. Andres Perez De Lara is third, followed by Connor Mosack. Toni Breidinger and Frankie Muniz round up the rookie standings.
2025 Stats: 8 starts, best finish 9th (Texas)
