News & Notes

New Track on the Schedule: While Rockingham Speedway isn’t a new track, it might as well be when it comes to Rackley W.A.R. and Dawson Sutton. This season marks the first time since 2013 that the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will race at the 1.017-mile D-shaped track. The last time the series raced at Rockingham, Kyle Larson, driving for the now-defunct Turner Scott Motorsports, dominated, leading 187 of 205 laps en route to the victory over Joey Logano, Brendan Gaughan, Johnny Sauter and Chase Elliott.

Last Race: After qualifying was rained out at Bristol Motor Speedway, the field was set using performance metrics and Sutton started 16th. He remained near the back half of the top 20 for much of the race and even went a lap down for a large portion of stages two and three. Sutton received the free pass under the seventh caution and finished the race 17th.

Note: Performance Metrics is a total number based on the previous Event. 15% of a fastest lap time position, 25% of the driver’s final race finish position, 25% of the owner’s final race finish position and 35% of the Owner Points position.

Points Update: Dawson Sutton gained a position in the championship standings to 19th and currently sits 165 points behind leader Corey Heim. He finds himself 62 points behind Jake Garcia who currently holds the 10th and final playoff position.

Rookie Standings: Sutton is third in the rookie points, having surpassed Connor Mosack with his finish at Bristol. He now sits 10 points behind Andres Perez De Lara and 41 behind rookie leader Giovanni Ruggiero. Frankie Muniz and Toni Breidinger sit tied 31 points back from Sutton.

2025 Stats: 6 Starts, best finish 16th (Martinsville)
