Sutton Bristol Stats: This weekend will mark Sutton’s first start at Bristol Motor Speedway in a truck. He scored a season-high 16th at the Truck Series’ most recent short track visit to Martinsville Speedway a couple weeks ago.
Last Race: When the Truck Series raced last at Martinsville Speedway a couple weeks ago, Sutton qualified 22nd and remained around that area of the running order for much of the first two stages. He nearly went a lap down during a caution-free stage two, however, strategic coaching by spotter Bruce Danz Jr. kept Sutton on the lead lap. During stage three, the driver of the No. 26 Rackley Roofing / W.A.R. Shocks Chevrolet Silverado made contact with another competitor but only suffered minor damage. He ran as high as 10th in stage three before settling into his 16th-place finishing position.
Points Update: Sutton currently sits 20th in the championship standings. He’s currently 144 points behind leader Corey Heim and 46 points behind Ben Rhodes, who sits 10th at the playoff cut line.
Rookie Standings: Sutton sits fourth in the Sunoco Rookie of the Year standings. Giovanni Ruggiero leads the way and has a 22 point advantage over Andres Perez De Lara. Connor Mosack sits third in the rookie standings, followed by Sutton, who finds himself just points behind Mosack. Frank Muniz and Toni Breidinger 17 and 23 points behind Sutton, respectively.
